Front Desk · Full-Time

Receptionist

Emporia is a twelve-room estate — small enough that the Receptionist isn't a face behind a counter, but the person who sets the tone for every stay. You'll manage arrivals, departures and everything in between, in a house where guests are remembered, not just checked in.

What You'll Do

  • Welcome guests on arrival and departure, and run the front desk through every hour of the day.
  • Handle reservations, check-ins and check-outs with genuine care.
  • Answer phone and email enquiries, coordinating with housekeeping and the kitchen as needed.
  • Anticipate guest needs before they're asked — recommendations, local tips, small gestures.

What We're Looking For

  • Fluent English; Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian a strong advantage.
  • Comfortable with booking & property management software, or quick to learn.
  • A natural, unforced warmth with guests and colleagues alike.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Kitchen Support Staff

Behind every plate that leaves the pass is a kitchen kept clean, stocked and calm — that's the work of our Kitchen Support Staff. No prior experience is required, only reliability and a willingness to learn a working kitchen from the ground up.

What You'll Do

  • Support the kitchen brigade with prep, cleaning and organisation before, during and after service.
  • Maintain hygiene and cleanliness standards across the kitchen and storage areas.
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries from the garden, market and cellar.
  • Help keep service moving smoothly through the estate's busiest hours.

What We're Looking For

  • No prior kitchen experience required — just reliability and a willingness to learn.
  • Comfortable with physical work and being on your feet through service.
  • A team player who takes pride in getting the small things right.

Assistant Cook

The Assistant Cook learns Emporia's Mediterranean, farm-to-table style from the pass up — working prep, plating and service alongside a small brigade that will teach as much as it asks. Some kitchen experience is preferred, but genuine enthusiasm matters more.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with daily mise en place, prep and plating under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.
  • Learn the estate's seasonal, farm-to-table menu from the ingredient up.
  • Support service at the pass during lunch, dinner and private events.
  • Maintain your section to Emporia's hygiene and presentation standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Some kitchen experience preferred, but genuine enthusiasm matters more.
  • Basic knife skills and comfort with a fast-moving service.

Housekeeper

Emporia's twelve rooms are kept to a standard of quiet, considered luxury — and that standard is set by our Housekeeper. It is precise, physical, and largely unseen work, and it's the reason every guest room feels effortless.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain guest rooms and public spaces to Emporia's standard of quiet, considered luxury.
  • Manage linens, laundry and room turnover between guests.
  • Report maintenance needs and restock guest amenities.
  • Support the wider house team during arrivals, departures and events.

What We're Looking For

  • Meticulous attention to detail and pride in a job done properly.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and comfortable working independently.
  • Comfortable with physical work through a full day.
  • Previous housekeeping experience helpful, not required.
